Introduction to Synergetic Play Therapy
"Every person has a story worth understanding."
Too often, we move through life carrying experiences, expectations, and beliefs about ourselves without ever having the opportunity to slow down and ask why. Over time, those patterns can leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. My hope is to provide a space where you don't feel pressured to have everything figured out, but rather that you believe a new way of “walking” is possible. Together, we'll explore your story with compassion, understand the experiences that have shaped you, and move toward greater freedom, hope, and healing.
One of the greatest privileges of being a therapist is walking alongside people as they discover that healing is possible. I believe some of the most meaningful transformation begins when we feel truly heard, deeply understood, and accepted without judgment. From that place, we can begin making sense of our story, find healing at the root, and reconnect with the person we were created to be. My desire is that each client leaves my therapy office not only experiencing greater freedom from the pain they've carried, but with the confidence to continue walking in that healing long after our work together.
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary and have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals for more than 10 years.
Throughout my career, I've worked across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient mental health, intensive outpatient care facilitating DBT groups, private practice settings and working with eating disorders, along with community mental health, and nonprofit organizations. These experiences have allowed me to support individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, co-occurring disorders, birth trauma, body image concerns, motherhood, life transitions, and questions of identity. Along the way, I've also developed a deep appreciation for serving those whose stories or circumstances have often been overlooked or marginalized.
While every person's story is unique, I believe healing often begins when we feel safe enough to slow down, be truly heard without judgment, and make sense of the patterns that have quietly shaped our lives.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based care. I completed Basic Training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2018 and thoughtfully integrate EMDR alongside cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), attachment-based work, mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, and somatic interventions. I continue to pursue advanced training in trauma treatment, attachment, maternal mental health, body image, and faith-integrated counseling so I can continue providing thoughtful, compassionate care that reflects both current research and the unique needs of each individual.
Beyond my professional experience, some of my deepest learning has come through walking alongside loved ones during seasons of illness and recovery. Those experiences have deepened my empathy for the complexities of caregiving, grief, changing family dynamics, and the resilience that healing often requires.
For those who desire it, Christian faith can also be thoughtfully integrated into the counseling process, always with respect for each person's unique journey and beliefs.
Whether this is your first experience with counseling or you've been here before, it would be a privilege to walk alongside you as you discover greater healing, deeper hope, and the freedom to become more fully who you were created to be.
